CARDIOVASCULAR EXERCISE

and it's benefits

Cardiovascular exercise is very beneficial to the human body, which is why we are going to be talking about it next! We all need a strong heart to maintain our daily activities. Some of these benefits include weight loss, stronger heart and lungs, increased bone density, and reduced stress and risk of heart disease.

According to the American College of Sports Medicine, 30 minutes of moderate intensity exercise 5 days a week are recommended to improve our health. However, that is not the only option. Vigorous cardio 20 minutes a day, 3 days a week is just as valuable.

Any exercise that causes a temporary increase in the heart rate is considered to be a cardiovascular workout. For example:

  • Walking

  • Running

  • Biking

  • Swimming

Although all of these examples are good, walking is a major one that we can focus on in our daily lives. For instance, try parking your car further in the parking lot just to get some extra steps into your day, or try taking the stairs instead of the elevator!
